Spring Book Fair
The Book Fair is coming to Ben Franklin Tues.-Thurs., May 8-10. Schedules and volunteer sheets were sent home. Please consider volunteering for this event. All students will receive a $4 voucher to be used for a book from the PTO Book It program.

Reading with the Stars
On Tuesday, May 15, local “stars” will volunteer their time to read to our children. We need VOLUNTEER PROCTORS to escort the readers and help organize this exciting event. We need your help between 1:00 and 2:45 and two people for morning Kindergarten between 10:15 and 11:45 am. I cannot guarantee that you will be with your child’s class, although every effort will be made. Volunteer Forms will be sent home or download form below. Yearbook Photos, Dedications and Ads Wanted
Last chance to submit photos, dedications and ads. If you are going on a field trip please take photos and submit for the yearbook. We also need photos from Room 4, Open House, Bingo and Art Show. If you have a photo of you and your child taken at a school event please send in for the "PTO Moms and Dads" page. Please email photos to claytonslater@comcast.net or send in an envelope marked "PTO mailbox - yearbook." Order forms were sent home. All fourth graders receive a FREE yearbook compliments of the PTO. All other grades must submit a form to receive a yearbook. If you are a PTO member and volunteer you receive a FREE yearbook. If you are a PTO member and did not volunteer it is $7.50 and If you are not a PTO member it is $15. All forms for the yearbook are below.

Box Tops
BOX TOPS 2011-2012 CLASSROOM CONTEST
Every classroom that hits 2000 Box Tops by May 31st will win a Popsicle and Popcorn party! All Box Tops turned in for this contest will also count toward the classroom goals. For more information and class totals, go to http://franklinboxtops.weebly.com/index.html

Last year the PTO received over $2000 from the Box Tops Program which was used for field trips, class parties, and more for the children of Ben Franklin Elementary. Box Tops is a very easy fundraiser that everyone can participate in! Don't forget to keep clipping those Box Tops and ask friends and family to clip for you too! Lois Johnson Learning and Child Care
Lois Johnson Learning and Child Care, Inc., offers a before and after school program for kindergarteners through age 12 here at Ben Franklin School with midday transportation available for the kindergarteners to and from the Brightwood center.  The extended care center program is open from 6:30 am till the start of school and after school till 6 pm.  Care is headquartered in the cafeteria.  Students spend their time in active play outside and inside.  Special projects, games, creative arts and manipulative exercises are included in the program. Lois Johnson Extended Care also provides care when school is delayed or if there is no school in session.  During the summer months, Lois Johnson Extended Care offers Summer Camp, Monday through Friday from 6:30 am till 6 pm.  Parents can register for one or both programs.
