Dear Franklin Families:
Can you believe November is already here??? 8 more weeks til winter break (if you count this week). It was wonderful seeing you at our Halloween Parade, although it was chilly! I’m sure our students enjoyed seeing you. Thank you to the PTO and volunteers for planning the room activities. November is an eventful month with Election Day, Parent/Teacher Conferences, fall break, and upcoming PTO events.
Franklin News from the Office:
Google II Certification-Our teachers, Mrs. Crowley, Mrs. Meucci and Mrs. Cook received their Google II certifications!!!
Burlington: Our social worker, Mrs. Popovski, received a $1000 grant from Burlington Coat Factory. Her classroom was one of the 599 classrooms that were adopted by local Burlington stores in celebration of World Teacher’s Day! The grant was well spent on classroom and student supplies.
Teacher Duty-Teacher duty starts at 9:00, we ask that students be dropped off at 9:00, with the exception of those having breakfast (8:50). If you drop your child off at the back door, make sure you are there by 9:10. If you arrive after 9:10, please bring your child to the front entrance.
Personal items-Please label all items with your child’s name (jackets, lunch boxes…). This does not exclude forms or payments. Please note that we are not responsible for the loss or damage of personal items. We encourage valuable items to be left at home.
Attendance-Please be aware that you will receive a system generated call for all absences (excused, educational trips…). You only need to call the office if your child should not be marked absent. Please make sure you check your child’s attendance regularly to confirm that absent notes were received.
Pumpkin Patch-THANK YOU for your participation and donations. We raised $299.26!!!
***Just a reminder, pumpkins not picked up by this Friday (11/3) will be discarded (we have about 26 pumpkins left).
-If you are interested in registering your child for the “Crazy Chemworks” after school program, you can register at https://register.madscience.org/pittsburgh

November 8 “Jeans for the Troops Day” (wear jeans)
November 9 Picture Retakes, 4 Grade FT (arrive by 8:20, bus leaves at 8:30)
November 10 Sarris orders & money due (no extensions)
November 15 Mad Science starts (afterschool 3:45-4:45 @Franklin, every Wednesday for 5 wks)
November 18 NOWP (pop art & fun @ community center, advance purchased tickets required)
November 22 Spirit Wear sale starts
November 23-27 Fall Break
December 1 Franklin Friday (wear black & orange)
December 5 Sarris candy pick-up
December 6-8 Santa shop (students only)
